Purpose of the Role
The Associate Editor supports the managing editors, in maintaining the quality, integrity, and timely publication of the journal. The role involves managing the peer-review process, contributing to editorial decision-making, supporting authors and reviewers, and helping to advance the journal's scholarly profile and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the peer-review process for assigned manuscripts.
- Conduct initial assessments of submissions for scope, quality, and suitability.
- Identify and invite qualified reviewers and monitor review progress.
- Provide recommendations to the Managing Editors regarding publication decisions.
- Ensure reviews are fair, constructive, and completed in a timely manner.
- Support authors in improving manuscripts through developmental feedback.
- Assist with special issues, themed collections, or conference proceedings.
- Promote the journal through professional networks and scholarly communities.
- Attend editorial board meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.
- Uphold ethical publishing standards and best practices.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A doctoral qualification or equivalent academic standing.
- An established record of scholarly publications.
- Experience as a peer reviewer and/or editorial board member.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist Associate Editors and the Managing Editors with editorial tasks.
- Participate in manuscript screening and reviewer selection processes.
- Support communication with authors and reviewers.
- Learn and contribute to editorial decision-making processes.
- Assist with special issues, conference proceedings, and journal projects.
- Contribute to journal promotion through professional and social media networks.
- Participate in editorial board meetings and training activities.
